Brunei is on the North West of the island and covers an area of around 5,765 sq.km with the South China Sea running along its coastline. The population is around 280,000 and is made up mainly of Malay, Chinese and Indians with a few indigenous groups.. The capital is Bandar Seri Begawan.
About 70% of Brunei's land area is covered by unspoiled rainforest, and is home to many types of flora and fauna endemic only to the island of Borneo.
The Sultanate of Brunei is oil rich. Evidence of its wealth can been seen in the fabulous mosques that are located around the country.

Meet at City Centre hotel lobby and transfer to Yayasan Jetty then by boat to visit Water Village.
The boat leaves the center of Bandar, traveling past the old and new Water Villages housing towards the mangrove- lined waterways. Moving quietly along the narrow mangrove channels, stopping to listen and look for the birds and animal life that call the mangroves home. If you are lucky you can observe the shy proboscis monkey. (Only found in Borneo) Our guide will explain the mangrove ecology and some of the diversity of plant and animal life in the tangle of mangroves, vines, palms and trees. The boat returns to the center of Bandar Seri Begawan stopping along the way to visit a local house to have morning or afternoon tea.
Mosques are closed on Thursdays & Fridays for Non-Muslim visitors. Photography is not allowed inside the Mosques and Museums. Ladies are required to wear a black coat/robe (provided by the Mosque) before entering the Mosque Shoes to be taken off before entering the Mosque and the Royal Regalia Building.
